I emphatically congradulate the idividuals involved in this program. What most people tend to dismiss, or simply not recognize about suicide in particular is: the way it spreads. Suicide is like a violent plague. I know this about this terrible virus because I have experienced it far too much in my 27 years. My mother, husband, cousin, and 2 additional family members have all suicided in the last 5 years. Depression is a killer. I am also inpressed with the attention to violence. I recently finished a disturbing book called "Ghosts from the Nursery" about toddler, young & teen violence. It is said that as of now, 1999, teen violence has grown to pass adult violence. Half a million women are raped in a single year. This is 1 in 3 women. I have 2 daught! ers, this statistic scares me. These are issues we need to face NOW, before it's too late and other families feel the wrath that mine has. Congrats to you.

Comments: i justfound out that nov.20, 1999 will be national survivors' for suicide prevention day. My husband committed suicide on that very day. He did not appear to be the suicidal type and no one can still believe he did it. People need to know there has to be a better way to deal with their problems than to end their life. My husband gave up so much and we lost so much. It is a devastating solution to life's problem. Keep up the good work to help prevent suicide especially by our youth

Comments: I have been able to personaly witness and be part of the With One Voice Program since March of 1999. I have seen its effects on those who are involved. I have seen the dignity that lights in their eyes. What the with one voice program does in my opinion is allow the participant to become part of a family dealing with depression and sucide, allowing such key emotions to come into view that we as a society cope with day to day. This program is not just a "emotional up lifter" that leaves one hanging after the show is gone. With One Voice continues to help by allowing students access to counselors and packets of information leading to understanding. The creaters of this program undoubtly understand that emotional crisis' can happen at any time, not just when "ok" for a school administrater. I urge everyone to take part in/attempt to witness this program. I ask that for my generations future as well my childrens.
