WITH ONE VOICE, INC.

A NOTABLE SUCCESS at the ...

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SUICIDOLOGY (AAS) NATIONAL CONFERENCE, 2001!

With One Voice, Inc. was a notable success at the 34th Annual Conference in conjunction with the 11th Annual AAS Healing After Suicide Conference MIND, BODY & SOUL: Three Dimensions of Suicide. Kimberly A. Spencer, author and founder of With One Voice, Inc. presented at the conference discussing the complete program, why and how it was inspired. Four cast members, including Spencer, then showcased excerpts from the full program Saturday, April 21st. at 1:00. The presentation left such an impression on the conferences chairs that the cast was asked to perform in the Grand Ball Room for the closing of the conference. Spencer, and the With One Voice cast left the audience of doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, survivors, national speakers, and others in awe of this new incredibly innovative project. After the group sang the first song, "Together We'll See it Thru," written by Spencer, thunderous applause filled the room. The second song, also written by Spencer, left the 400+ audience on their feet wanting more...and after the third and final song...the cast left the stage after 3-standing ovations. The cast made their way past flashing cameras and many professionals racing to them to find out how they could become involved with this project. Spencer received much praise for the professionalism of the project and her creative approach. One audience member stated, "This is the kind of program we have ALL been looking for!" Others asked, "How do we get this in communities across the US?" And, "When can you come to our community or conference?" Spencer is hoping that this will be the beginning of a new wave for the suicide prevention movement.

Directly following the performance, the cast was invited to Washington D.C. to sing for the National Suicide Prevention Advocacy Network Conference (SPAN), and also questioned about doing the full With One Voice musical for the AAS conference 2002.

The cast and staff of With One Voice, Inc. wishes to personally thank National Machinery and the Gilmore Foundations for affording them the opportunity to present at the conference. Spencer stated that if "it were not for these two foundations donations, the program would not have been able to attend and present at the conference".

Promotional productions of With One Voice have been showcased in Washington D.C., Ohio, Virginia, California, and Michigan in the last two years. The program has been in constant collaboration with many national programs, professionals, survivors and students, and has the support and letters of endorsements from professionals up to the United States Surgeon Generals Office.
